The pandemic took away a lot of opportunities for traveling and sightseeing, as towns and entire cities went on lockdown for everybody’s safety. Fortunately, with restrictions slowly easing up in the last few months, it looks like out-of-town trips are in the cards once again.

Alongside other destinations like Mexico and Hawaii, Las Vegas is still one of the most popular cities to visit. In fact, the city had the most hotel bookings during Memorial Weekend in May, proving that it’s still one of the best places for a vacation. If you’re planning a trip to the City of Lights, then here are some places you just can’t miss:

A gondola ride at the Venetian is certainly one way to get around in style, and it is a must-do activity when in Vegas. You can sail through three routes: the Grand Canal, the Marco Polo and the San Luca, all of which offer a romantic cruise accompanied by Italian opera music.

The ride takes you past buildings that represent some of Venice’s most grand buildings through turquoise waters, so be sure to take plenty of pictures to capture this unforgettable experience.

Caesars Palace

Caesars Palace is arguably the best-known hotel resort in all of Las Vegas. The massive complex is situated in the middle of the Strip, where you can watch internationally renowned artists perform, have a dip in the Oasis pool, and dine at the finest restaurants. The Las Vegas nightlife scene would not be complete without its casino culture, which Caesars Palace is a big part of.

In fact, the establishment is home to one of the best poker rooms in Las Vegas. It’s located in a secluded area of the gaming room, so it blocks out most of the noise from the nearby sportsbook. The poker room is frequented by many recreational grinders looking for a fun and cheap tournament, making it the perfect place for tourists to join if they want to try their hand at a game of Texas Hold’em. Even if you aren’t that familiar with poker, the casino floor is still something to marvel at– it’s a quintessential part of Vegas.

Paris Las Vegas is perhaps the most easily recognizable hotel along the Strip, with its scaled version of the Eiffel Tower displayed out front. You can enjoy Las Vegas with spectacular 360-degree views of the city from 46 stories up on the observation deck of this particular hotel. You’ll also find a recreation of the Paris Opera House here.

Whether you’re staying at the Paris Las Vegas or just stopping by, it’s worth having a romantic dinner at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant. Their iconic dishes include the Grand Seafood Platter, beef Wellington, and roasted rack of lamb.

The Neon Museum

Las Vegas is known for its bright and colorful neon signs, and many visitors marvel at the sight of these iconic lights. Over the years, historic neon signs from businesses that have come and gone were stored away or simply dumped without considering how important they were to the city’s history. However, many of these historic signs have since been refurbished and are on display in the Neon Museum.

Taking a guided tour involves going to a large compound where many old neon signs are stored. Tour guides will tell you about each sign’s design and the businesses that used them, which gives visitors an idea of just how much history can be rediscovered through each neon light. This is especially true for signs where only a portion could be saved or found, adding to an appreciation of what Las Vegas’ past might have looked like.
