Mission Fed ArtWalk is back for its 38th year. This free premiere arts and culture event in San Diego’s Little Italy runs from April 30 – May 1, providing attendees an opportunity to meet more than 300 local, national and international artists as well as purchase art directly from the creators. Known as the largest and longest-running arts festival in Southern California, the Mission Fed ArtWalk showcases every medium of art including painting, sculpture, glasswork, photography, fine jewelry and more.

Arts and Culture

 From April 28 – May 1, 2022, Art Alive, the San Diego Museum of Art’s signature fundraiser, is returning and bringing a kaleidoscope of color and flowers to the Museum. Talented floral designers will fill the galleries with more than 70 floral arrangements inspired by the Museum collection, offering brilliantly colored scenery for a weekend of beloved traditions and art-inspired activities.

 This April the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) is set to debut its long-awaited renovation and expansion of its La Jolla flagship campus. The museum will feature four times the previous gallery space, two levels of light-filled galleries, a public park, and new seaside terraces, allowing visitors the opportunity to both relax and reflect. In addition, guests will be able to enjoy some 200 works of contemporary art with views of the Pacific Ocean serving as an inspiring backdrop. Opening in early summer 2022, The Kitchen @ MCASD will offer seating for up to 120 (inside and out) and robust to-go options.

Restaurants and Bars

 Opened in March 2022, Go Go Amigo at Liberty Station features a Mexican-inspired fare as well as more distinctive fusion items. The menu also includes a selection of tacos, including al pastor, quesabirria, shrimp and pollo asada as well as classic sides and starters, soups and salads, and desserts. To complement the food offerings, Go Go Amigo boasts an expansive list of margaritas, specialty cocktails, beer and wine.

 San Diego’s acclaimed SDCM Restaurant Group will debut an intimate gin-focused cocktail lounge, Captain’s Quarters, adjacent to the group’s The Grass Skirt (a hidden tiki bar) in Pacific Beach spring 2022. The new 1,472 square foot concept will feature curated cocktails highlighting what was once America’s favorite spirit, plus a complementary small-bites menu.
