This incredible dining room by West LA interior decorator David Levine is just the beginning of what you’ll see now that the 2024 Pasadena Showcase House of Design make-over of the1902 English Tudor Revival style Potter Daniels Manor is complete and open for tours through May 19.
Levine outdid himself with layer upon layer of opulent décor from the Michelangelo-like ceiling to an upholstered sideboard – who would think to upholster a sideboard? Venetian glass chandelier. Even a large sterling silver octopus handmade by a Florentine artist. Most everything in his dining room is made by Florentine and Euro designers, Levine confided.
Also amazing, the “Foyer of Enchantment” and grand staircase, with a commissioned painting and chairs to create a forest-like ambiance, complete ceramic birds and two ornate 17th Century Italian tables. The fabulous creation of LA-based interior decorator Rachel Scheff.
And upstairs, the “Magical Royal Nursery.” Everything is from France. The adorable stuffed animals, the crib, the fixtures. Clearly French from the sophisticated yet cuddly charm. The color palette is blue and cream. “Blue can be for either a girl or a boy,” the room’s interior designer Cynthia Silverman of Beverly Hills, explained. Especially when it’s French.
These are only three of the many glorious rooms in the main house and gatehouse guesthouse – don’t miss the murals in its “Pony Tails” room – and the revamped gardens you’ve simply got to see!
